Jackson Bernstein is a New York City-based drummer who is versatile across various genres, including jazz, funk, blues, and rock. Some of his influences include Art Blakey, Jeff Porcaro, Philly Joe Jones, and Mitch Mitchell. He began playing the trumpet at LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts. He later transitioned to drums in William Paterson University's Jazz Studies program, where he developed his sight-reading and other drumming skills. Bernstein has a rich style that blends traditional and modern rhythms. His dedication and creativity consistently shine through his work with multiple ensembles, where he delivers compelling and memorable performances that resonate deeply with both audiences and fellow musicians alike. He has played with Timothy Newman, Ruth Righi, Hannah Reimann, New Yacht City, and The WP Big Band at Dizzy's Club, as well as with numerous musicians across the tri-state area. Bernstein’s goal is to make whoever he’s playing with excited about the music that's being created. He loves meeting new artists and enjoys performing and recording music.
